Communications Director
How long have you worked at Camp? Were you a camper and/or counselor before?
Camp Kanata has been a part of my life for the past 13 summers. I was a camper from 2011-2016, a trainee from 2017-2018, and a staff member from 2019-2023. I was counselor in Cabin 16, I worked Day Camp in 2020 and was on Ad Staff as the Training Coordinator and Programs Coordinator for two years.
Favorite Camp memory?
I have so many to choose from! One of my favorites was my first summer on staff. Working with the Hilton campers is where I worked best! It was such a fun summer because as much as I hopefully made an impact on my campers, they all made an impact on me. It is so special seeing some of my campers from that summer be on staff now!
Where were you born?
Raleigh, NC- I have lived here my whole life.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be an environmental lawyer or work for the EPA.
What’s the most important thing you’ve learned in life?
It is something my dad would tell me when I was younger, which was "keep love in your heart." He would say this as I was leaving for school and I think it is such an important motto to live by.
What’s your favorite thing/hobby and why?
I am a huge sports fan, but specifically basketball! To be even more specific, NC State basketball (Go Pack!). In college, I planned my schedule around basketball season making sure I was always at home games or always home in time to watch away games on TV. I started following NC State football more when I was a student, but nothing will ever compare to basketball season!
